Teachers in Solomon Islands are set to strike today.
They were promised last February that their salaries would be revised and arrears paid out but the government has failed to make the necessary adjustment in the budget.
The start of the school year was planned for last Monday but was deferred for a week to allow for the funding to be arranged.
The teachers union says its members have now had enough of the government's excuses and will strike.
A sit-in protest is also planned for today.
