Solomon Islands is bracing for tropical cyclone Sandra as rain continues to pound the capital, Honiara.
A tropical cyclone warning is in force for Rennell, Bellona, Southern Guadalcanal and Makira islands.
The meteorological service says the system is south of the country and moving northeast and intensifying.
It says the public should take precautionary measures as bad weather associated with the system poses threats to lives and properties.
