Sport: Fiji U20s banking on experience at Junior World Rugby Champs

8:36 am on 6 June 2013

The Fiji Under 20 rugby coach Bill Gadolo says he'll be relying on his senior players to guide the team in this Thursday's Junior World Championship opener against New Zealand.

Fiji finished 11th of 12 teams at last year's tournament, beating Italy in a playoff match to avoid relegation.

Five players are returning from that team and Bill Gadolo says their experience will be vital in a tough pool that also includes Australia and Ireland.

"I think mainly because these five players can relay to the other players the intensity and the expectations that they go into with these matches and it is very very important because none of the games most of them have ever played will be similar to what they will play up in the JWC."
