The Japanese Government has approved a 9 million US dollar grant to rehabilitate the Madang town market in Papua New Guinea.
Japan's Parliamentary senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs and PNG's Minister for Foreign Affairs and Immigration Rimbink Pato signed an agreement on the project in Tokyo last Friday.
According to the Post Courier newspaper, the project includes the reconstruction and repairing of the market building and facilities such as sanitation, interiors and ice storage, sales facilities, a car park and a sea-wall.
