Papua New Guinea has won the East Asia Pacific Women's Cricket Trophy in dramatic fashion, beating defending champions Japan in their own backyard.
The Lewas had lost to the same team in their round-robin clash a day earlier but a superb bowling effort saw Japan dismissed for 102, 12 runs shy of their target.
Tanya Ruma top scored for PNG with 47 not out while Veru Frank's 3 for 11 with the ball was equally vital.

"I'm overjoyed, glad that we've won it back again. Undescribable - it's too good, just too good".
Meanwhile Samoa secured a third place finish, thrashing the Cook Islands by 10 runs.
Moelagi Tuilagi became the first player to score a century in an EAP women's T20 match, finished with 104 in Samoa's 198, with the Cook Islands restricted to 88 for 7 in reply.
PNG will now participate in the Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier next year.
