Samoa have suffered an agonising 25-24 defeat to South Africa in their latest match at the Women's Rugby World Cup in France.
Things didn't start well for the Manusina who conceded a try in the opening minute of the match before hitting back with a seven pointer of their own to first five Bella Milo a few minutes later.
Further tries to Merenaite Faitala-Mariner and Milo gave the Samoans a narrow one point advantage at halftime, with Milo adding a penalty in the 47th minute to made it 24-20.
But substiture Veroeshka Grain's try on the hour mark put the South Africans back in front by one in what proved to be the final scoring play of the match.
The Manusina will play their final game against Kazakhstan in the 11th/12th place playoff on Monday morning.
