The Fiji Rugby Union has rejected a claim by former sponsor Digicel that the telecommunications company released a payment of over $US20,000 to players at October's Gold Coast Sevens.
In a statement, the Union says it has not received any payment and neither the Union or any of its players will accept any payment from Digicel, who are a competitor with the Union's current main sponsor, Vodafone.
The FRU says it will discuss the issue with its legal team and take appropriate action.
