An MP of Fiji's opposition Sodelpa Party, Ratu Viliame Tagivetau, has died after a short illness.
The Fiji Sun reports Ratu Viliame, who was in his late 60s, was admitted to hospital on Wednesday.
He was a member of the chiefly clan of the Tui Bua and from Koroinasolo village, in Bua Province.
He was a former civil servant and former Native Lands and Fisheries Commissioner.
