Fiji's Public Prosecutor says he is concerned media reports about an alleged rebel group could prejudice a fair trial if it goes before the courts.

The Fiji Sun is carrying an article about an Australia-based woman, Oni Kirwin, who claims the chiefly bure of Naulunivuaka in Ra Province elected 18 ministers to form a Cabinet for an apparent breakaway Christian State.
The newspaper says one of the group's members claims to be working with the aboriginal people of North Queensland and has travelled to Australia to look at the possibility of opening an embassy in Canberra.
The permanent secretary of the iTaukei affairs ministry, Savenaca Kaunisela, says the existence of a breakaway group could cause instability and police are investigating the claims.
In a statement today, the Director of Public Prosecutions says his office has received the police file and will decide if charges will be laid next week.
He has asked for public and media discussion to be limited, as it could prejudice a fair trial should the case go before the courts.
