Solomons Provident Funds payments down

The Solomon Islands National Provident Fund is this year paying out less interest on its members' shares than it did last year.

The fund this week announced a 10 percent dividend share for all members.

Last financial year the NPF paid out 15 percent and 20 percent the year before.

The low dividends are being attributed to the loss of revenue after the closure of the Gold Ridge gold mine and other investment losses.

Another problem for the Fund is the failure of its investment into the Tavanipupu Resort.
