The United Nations Population Fund has handed aid worth over US$115,000 dollars to the Fiji government in an ongoing effort to improve access to reproductive healthcare in the country.
Around nine tonnes of supplies were presented to the minister of health, Jone Usamate, on Monday.
The UNPF said the reproductive health kits would cover the needs of more than 450,000 people for a period of three months.
It includes emergency clean delivery kits which are sanitised delivery packs for baby deliveries in emergency situations.
The UNFPA is also supporting the deployment of an additional 20 midwives for three months to relieve health service providers in the affected health facilities.
