The Pacific Daily News reported the committee first announced a probe in July but has released information this week.

The allegations were already vetted by the Office of Congressional Ethics, which submitted its findings to the Ethics Committee.

The office recommended that the committee review allegations that Ms Bordallo received rental profit from the Japanese consulate, that she received gifts of free lodging, meals, and amenities at the Outrigger Guam Resort during her service in congress.

There were also allegations that that Ms Bordallo used official funds, for unauthorised purposes, to pay for her lodging and meals at the resort.

The committee said it was gathering more information.
