The president of the association, James Naipao, said they were evacuated for security reasons.

Most doctors and their families were evacuated from Southern Highlands by the public health authority and the provincial government before hundreds of soldiers and police arrived to try and combat the escalating law and order problems.

The Post Courier reports Dr Naipao said leaders who did not care about loss of lives in an already existing crisis or impending crisis should reconsider their positions.
