Air France to lease plane to get stranded passengers from Tahiti

Reports from French Polynesia say Air France will lease an Air Tahiti Nui plane to fly stranded passengers out of Papeete on Sunday.

A strike at Air France in Tahiti prompted the airline to cancel its flight to Paris today.

The stoppage came after last minute negotiations between the carrier and its flight attendants in Tahiti failed.

Air France has offered to accommodate stranded passengers in hotels.

The carrier has told La Depeche de Tahiti that Air France has also endeavoured to find seats for them on flights to Tokyo and Auckland.
