A mutant sheep called Sharon living in semi resort like conditions is helping scientists to hopefully unravel the mysteries of human hair. Sharon's mutation means her wool isn't the usual tight curly coat we see but rather its straighter and silkier. Eloise Gibson is a science and medical journalist here in New Zealand and she's making it her mission to have Sharon the sheep become world famous.

Morrison, started his professional career as a teen in the Northern Irish R&B band "Them."  By 22 he'd kicked off a solo career and three years later released his seminal album "Moondance" after moving to upstate New York.

2:20 New Zealand Live: Seth Haapu

Something just a little bit special on New Zealand Live today . . .  no guitars.  Instead we have a trio of strings and a keyboard, and the dulcet tones of one of the most talented singers this country has produced in quite some time. Seth Haapu is a multi-instrumentalist, song writer and singer, and he's releasing an EP of songs today entitled "Volume II".

Mole crickets are found around the world, but ours is unusual in having no wings. Robustly built with strong jaws for chewing and powerful front legs, Mole crickets use their front legs to dig underground tunnels.  Unlike crickets, their rear legs are not enlarged as they burrow not jump.
