Labour Party general secretary Tim Barnett is stepping down, after just over three years in the role.
Mr Barnett will take up a new job in November.
Labour president Nigel Haworth said Mr Barnett had overseen Labour's Christchurch East, Ikaroa-Rawhiti and Northland by-election campaigns, as well as the 2014 election, and he left the party in good heart.
