A ridge of high pressure lies over the Far North where it weakens Monday.Meanwhile a weak front affects the West Coast of the South Island today. A second front is expected to move over the South Island during Saturday then weaken on Sunday. An active front should move over the South Island early Monday and reach the lower North Island later Monday. This front then becomes slow moving and weakens as it crosses the North Island on Tuesday.
