Overseas traveller numbers at Auckland down

12:39 pm on 23 November 2012

The number of overseas travellers passing through Auckland international airport has fallen.

Passenger volumes fell 3.5% to 613,000 last month, compared to October last year.

However, domestic travellers picked up about 11% to 561,000.

The airport company says a drop in international numbers is due to the fact that October last year was boosted by those travelling to experience the Rugby World Cup.

Visitors fell from Australia, Britain, America, Korea and India, while China rose by nearly half.
