The accelerator appears to have eased off the trucks, with ANZ's monthly Truckometer index falling for both light and heavy traffic movements.
ANZ's monthly Truckometer index charts the immediate and future outlook of the economy using light and heavy traffic movements.
The light index - which leads the economy by six months - dipped 1.4 percent last month, while heavy traffic index fell 4.3 percent.
ANZ senior economist Sharon Zollner said the drop could be due to monthly volatility. However, global financial market jitters could impact truck movements in the months ahead.
ANZ would be watching the Truckometer indexes closely for an early heads-up on any impact on domestic activity, Ms Zollner said.
