Three sizeable aftershocks overnight

Three sizeable earthquake aftershocks struck Canterbury during the early hours of Sunday.

Magnitude-4 shocks were felt just after 1am and at 2.40am; in between, there was a 4.6 tremor at 2.25.

All were at a depth of roughly 10 kilometres; the first was 30 kilometres east of Christchurch and the other two were 20 kilometres east.
