A New Zealand yachtsman is reported to have died after falling from a pier in Thailand.
A local news website has reported that the man fell into the sea at Chalong Pier on Phuket's east coast, hit his head and probably drowned.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said on Friday that it is aware of the death of a New Zealander in Phuket and is contacting next-of-kin.
MFAT said it was unable to release any further details.
