Lobbying campaign by Dotcom

7:13 am on 8 May 2013

Kim Dotcom is launching a lobbying campaign as the United States Attorney General spends his second day in New Zealand.

Eric Holder is attending an annual meeting with attorneys-general from five countries.

The United States is seeking internet entrepreneur's extradition to face internet copyright charges.

Mr Dotcom's international lawyers have released a statement outlining why they believe the US prosecution against he and his MegaUpload colleagues is unlawful.

They say Hollywood studios threatened to withdraw support and funding if the US Government did not deal with a perceived threat presented by Megaupload.

They say the case is politically driven and are calling for an investigation into an illegal prosecution.
