The partner of a Hokianga woman found dead near Omanaia has been charged with her murder.
Barbara Ann Moka, 38, was missing for more than two weeks before her body was found, triggering a homicide inquiry.
Matiu Wilson Korewha appeared in Kaikohe District Court on Wednesday morning charged with her murder.
The 43-year-old's head was bowed while police and security guards kept watch on Ms Mopa's relatives who filled the public seats.
Mr Korewha was remanded in custody to appear in the High Court in Whangarei on 18 July.
