Red zone status to go to Supreme Court

5:15 am on 6 May 2014

The legality of the red zone in Christchurch is to be decided in the Supreme Court.

The Quake Outcasts group has been granted leave to appeal to the court where lawyers will argue that the establishment of the zone was illegal.

The court will also hear arguments on whether the offers to property owners in the red zone were legal.

The case is set down for 29 and 30 July.
