Swine flu puts 102 people in intensive care

The Ministry of Health says 102 people have been admitted to hospital intensive care units with swine flu this year.

In an update on Friday, the ministry says activity in the community appears to be falling but there is variation around the country, with an increase in presentations in Canterbury in the past week.

Overall, the ministry says there have been 631 hospitalisations because of swine flu, including 14 people who remain in intensive care.
