Seven arrests after raids in Auckland and Napier

12:44 pm on 9 December 2010

Seven people have been arrested following raids at a Hell's Angels gang property in Auckland, a house in South Auckland and properties in Napier.

The operation is the result of two-month investigation in which police allege the gang has been selling large quantities of methamphetamine to drug dealers in Hawkes Bay.

In Auckland, police officers, including members of the Armed Offenders Squad arrived at the Mt Eden gang address just after 8am on Thursday.

A neighbour said ladders were put over the wall of the Brentwood Rd property, and about 10 armed police officers were among those who carried out the raid.

The property has been entered by police during several operations in recent years.

A cordon was in place on the road for a time.

Six people were to appear in the Napier District Court on Thursday and one in the Manukau District Court.

Those due to appear in the Napier District Court face charges of conspiracy to supply methamphetamine, supplying methamphetamine, possession of Class A drugs for supply and conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.
