Police in Auckland have arrested a man who they say brazenly robbed three banks without any form of disguise.
He is accused of targeting National Bank branches, in Onehunga in July last year, on Dominion Road in November and in Mt Albert in January.
Police say that in each case a man entered the banks wearing plain clothes, with a bag over his shoulder, before pulling out a knife or machete and demanding money.
Detective Sergeant Pete Steward says a 35-year-old man has been charged with three counts of aggravated robbery.
He was due to appear in Auckland District Court on Tuesday.
