A New Zealander missing after the bomb and gun attacks in Norway has still not been found, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade says.

On Friday, 76 people were killed in a bomb attack in Oslo and shooting rampage on the island of Utoeya.

Anders Behring Breivik has admitted the killings and a judge on Monday ordered he be detained for eight weeks, at least four in solitary confinement.

An MFAT spokesperson says he believes the New Zealander, who is also a Norwegian citizen, is one of a few who have still not been found after the mass shooting on the Utoeya island.

The spokesperson says consular staff in New Zealand and in The Hague are in contact with the person's family.
