The Registrar of Companies says he will need to talk with Jean Hubbard and her advisers before advising the Government on whether she should be released from statutory management.
Allan Hubbard, 83, died on Friday following a car crash north of Oamaru in which his wife, Jean, was injured.
The couple was put under statutory management in June last year, along with seven charitable trusts, Aorangi Securities Ltd, and later, Hubbard Management Funds.
The Registrar of Companies, Neville Harris, says he received an independent report in July about whether the statutory management should stay in place and was still considering the Hubbards' response last week.
Mr Harris expressed his condolences to Mrs Hubbard, and says he will need to consult with her, when she is ready, before the review can be completed.
He says the position of Aorangi Securities Ltd and Hubbard Management Funds is complicated and investors have suffered losses, and that under the Corporations Act his main focus must be the interests of the investors and creditors.
