Solomons academics issue threat over exam results

Lecturers at the Solomon Islands National University are threatening to withold students' exam results unless issues surrounding their salaries are addressed.

A member of the university's lecturers association says ongoing disagreements over the salary structure has forced them to come out with two resolutions.

One resolution would see lecturers withold semseter one grades, and the other would be to suspend semester two classes which are expected to resume in a few weeks.

A University spokesperson says the Human Resource Sub-committee of the University Council is considering the lecturers demands.
