Sport: Lay day in Tahiti

11:48 am on 21 August 2014

The Billabong Pro in Tahiti has been been put on hold due to torrential rain and onshore winds at Teahupo'o.

Organisers have called a lay day with officials to assess conditions again tomorrow.

Defending world champion Mick Fanning and seven other Australians breezed into the third round yesterday while local hope Michel Bourez is also still in contention for the title and will next face Spain's Aritz Aranburu.
