Australia's Ricky Schmidt is the first round leader at the Vanuatu Golf Open in Port Vila after posting a seven under par 65.
Schmidt opened with the first of three bogeys in his round but more than made up for it with eight birdies and an eagle on the par-five 10th hole.
Fellow Australia R.J Caracella and New Zealander Daniel Pearce are one shot back at six under par
34 professionals from the South Pacific region are taking part in this year's event with AU$40,000 prize-money up for grabs.
