Teapot court costs demand dropped

1:43 pm on 6 May 2012

The Crown has dropped plans to seek court costs from the cameraman in the teapot tape saga.

Prime Minister John Key complained to the police after Bradley Ambrose recorded his conversation with John Banks of ACT last year, but the police later decided not to lay charges.

The Attorney General was planning on seeking $13,600 from Mr Ambrose.

But Mr Ambrose says he has seen court documents saying that is no longer happening.

He is relieved, as he would not have been able to afford to pay the bill and would have fought the demand in court.

Mr Ambrose also says his reputation has suffered and his work has dried up. He says he and his lawyers are now looking at what options he has to rectify that damage.
