Govt funds still invested in cluster bomb makers

Government funds are still invested in companies which make cluster bombs despite New Zealand adopting the Cluster Munitions Convention in 2008.

The Green Party says the investments by the Government Superannuation Fund and the National Provident Fund are illegal and should stop.

In answer to a series of written questions from the Greens, Finance Minister Bill English said the two funds have combined investments in L-3 Communications, Raytheon and Lockheed Martin, all American companies which make cluster bombs.
