PM faints at restaurant

Prime Minister John Key fainted in Christchurch on Thursday night. He was at a restaurant in the suburb of Merivale at the time.

Mr Key was taken to Christchurch hospital where he was assessed by three specialists.

He was discharged just after midnight after being found fit and healthy.

Mr Key has been deemed fit to travel to Antarctica on Friday morning for three days. The trip includes visits to Scott Base and the South Pole.
