A man who helped an off-duty policeman fight off a mugger brandishing a gun in Hamilton has praised the officer's actions.
The gunman tried to rob two people at the gardens early on Sunday morning.
Ian Morgan saw the attack unfold and went to help the officer. He says there was a scuffle and the officer managed to put the man into a headlock and force him to release his weapon.
Mr Morgan says he helped to pin the gunman to the ground before others arrived.
