A truck driver died in a crash on Auckland's north-western motorway on Friday evening.
Police say he was driving towards the city, near the Te Atatu interchange, when his truck veered off the road and hit a lamp-post and then a tree.
People in other vehicles stopped to help the man but he died at the scene.
The police say one of the two city-bound lanes were closed and the Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
