Lawyer seeks to keep name suppressed

A Wellington lawyer accused of drug offending has taken his bid for interim name suppression to the High Court.

The man is facing four charges including possession of LSD and methamphetamine, and possession of a pipe and instruments for smoking methamphetamine.

Last week, a District Court judge refused the application for interim name suppression, but the lawyer's name remained unpublished when his counsel filed an appeal with the High Court.

That appeal was heard today in the High Court at Wellington before Justice Collins, who reserved his decision.
