A 61-year-old Whanagamata man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man in the Coromandel town earlier this month.
Anthony Ballantyne pleaded not guilty to killing 76-year-old British national Ivan Kapluggin at an Achilles Avenue property in Whangamata.
He will reappear in court tomorrow for a bail hearing.
