Stephen Gourlay was last seen at about 7pm on 18 December in the Ravensbourne area.
Senior Sergeant James Ure said Mr Gourlay's family said the disappearance was very out of character.
He said the missing man is 175 centimetres tall and of a thin build, with grey hair and normally wears black jeans and a black t-shirt.
