Police in Christchurch have found a prisoner they say escaped from the city's District Court last Monday.
They say William Steven Cooper was scheduled to appear at the court when he escaped by impersonating another prisoner.
Police had been searching for him, but say he was arrested during an unrelated operation in the city on Friday night.
He is expected to appear in court on Monday.
