A mountain biker who illegally rode his bike on a national park track has been fined $900.
Rowan John Pearce, 31, was fined in the Nelson District Court for riding his bike on the Wangapeka Track in Kahurangi National Park.
The Department of Conservation told the court that Pearce kept riding despite being ordered off the track by a ranger.
Pearce pleaded guilty to charges of contravening park bylaws and to one of failing to comply with the directions of the ranger.
