Police in Invercargill say they have arrested two 15-year-old youths who ran away from a Child, Youth and Family home in Dunedin and hitchhiked to Invercargill in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Police say the pair were involved in a mini-crime wave during their travels, including a burglary just outside Balclutha where alcohol and food was stolen.
They say they were later involved in an incident at H & J Smiths store in Invercargill, as well as an unprovoked attack on a young man waiting to cross an inner-city street.
The youths are also alleged to have kicked vehicles and property along Tay Street and Kelvin Street.
