Dairy bill delay

12:39 pm on 22 June 2012

Legislation which would allow Fonterra farmers to trade shares was interrupted in Parliament again on Thursday night.

The Dairy Industry Restructuring Amendment Bill's is on its second reading and has already been interrupted once before.

The legislation allows for greater scrutiny of Fonterra's milk price setting, as well as the enactment of TAF.

The bill is set to resume its second reading next week, before moving to committee stages and a third and final reading to become law.
