New Zealand's representative shearing team lost a third consecutive test match to Australia.

John Kirkpatrick, Angus Moore and Chris Vickers lost by two points to the Australian team in their machine shearing contest at Warnambool near Melbourne, where each had to shear 16 merino sheep.

Brother and sister team of Aroha and Joe Garvin of West Australia - who are New Zealand born - won the wool handling test against the New Zealand team.

But New Zealand's two man blade shearing team managed to prevent an Australian whitewash and narrowly won their match.
