More than 300 dairy farmers have registered for a dairy industry event in Hamilton next week.
The DairyNZ function features expert speakers on the range of challenges and opportunities facing Waikato dairy farmers and will also update farmers on industry research and development.
The DairyNZ regional leader for South Waikato, Wade Bell, says there's a lot of work going on within the organisation in areas such as new feeds, how to use crops and supplements cost-effectively, and optimum stocking rates.
He says free health checks are also being offered because while dairy farmers are quick to call the vet for a sick animal, they're not so quick to see a doctor about their own health.
