Fiji police have released details of a shipment of methamphetamine, or P, they say was concealed in a container of powdered kava destined for New Zealand
Police spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri says officers at Nadi airport intercepted the drug shipment three months ago.
A suspected smuggler has been arrested along with a group of others, including several airport workers, though no charges have been laid.
Mr Sokomuri says police suspect a smuggling ring has been operating for some time and allegations that police and immigration officials were involved are being investigated.
