Silver Fern Farms has extended its deadline to raise up to $128 million by another three weeks, after attracting only $12 million from sheep and beef famers.
The meat processor and exporter is raising the money to repay bank debt.
The restructuring will see all shares in Silver Fern Farms traded under one entity on the unlisted exchange.
The capital raising now closes on 6 October.
