The police have now charged a 19 year old with murder over the death of ayear old man in Tauranga.
A family member found Harry Faulkner, 43, dead in a house on Watling Street in the suburb of Gate Pa on Tuesday morning.
Neighbours reported hearing a fight at the house the night before.
The 19-year-old was formally charged with murder when he re-appeared in the Tauranga District Court on Thursday morning.
He was initially charged with assault in connection with the death and has been remanded in custody until 13 January.
