The Imperial Palace in Japan says a granddaughter of the emperor has skipped school after suffering from anxiety over the wild behaviour of a few boys, but denies she was bullied.
A palace official said on Friday Princess Aiko, granddaughter of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko, and daughter of the Crown Prince Naruhito and Princess Masako, had not attended school since Tuesday because of a stomach-ache and anxiety.
The official says the princess, aged eight, developed the symptoms after confronting the wild behaviour of a few boys.
The Gakushuin primary school says she may have been reminded of an incident, where she was frightened by two boys running toward her.
